Match Recap
Jorge De Frutos put on a one-man show at Vallecas, scoring twice as Rayo Vallecano blew Celta Vigo away 3-0 in La Liga. He broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, doubled it early in the second half, and Unai López finished off the rout in the 73rd to turn a contest into a demolition. The result flips the head-to-head ledger between these two sides back in Rayo's favor after they'd split the last three meetings evenly, and it lifts Rayo off the floor following a bruising LDDWL run, even if Celta still sit higher in the table at ninth with 12 points to Rayo's 9. Celta's steadier form (DWDWD) counted for nothing once De Frutos got going. Neither side has anyone near Kylian Mbappé's 45-goal tally at the top of the scoring charts, but De Frutos made this his night regardless. Watch how he turns home from a tight angle for the opener in the 36th minute, then relocate for the knockout blow just after the restart, both goals waiting in the highlights below.
