Match Recap
Iñaki Williams needed only 14 minutes to get Athletic Club moving, and Alex Berenguer doubled the lead right before the break, sending Real Sociedad home with nothing. Luka Sučić pulled the visitors level in the 30th minute, but Berenguer's stoppage-time strike put Athletic back in front for a 2-1 win. The result flips the form table on its head: Real Sociedad arrived on a four-game winning run and sit fifth in La Liga with 19 points, while Athletic hadn't won any of their previous four games and sit seventh with 12. History leaned toward the visitors too, Athletic hadn't beaten Real Sociedad in their last two meetings, splitting a draw and a loss. None of today's scorers crack La Liga's top ten, where Kylian Mbappé's 46 goals keep him clear, but Williams and Berenguer didn't need the company to end Real Sociedad's run. Go back and watch how a 14th-minute opener and a 45+2 dagger undid four straight wins in one afternoon.
