Match Recap
Four different scorers, one complete tear-down: Athletic Club put four past Getafe without reply, and the storylines dried up by half-time. Alex Berenguer opened it in the 17th minute, Iñaki Williams doubled the lead at 35, and Aitor Paredes made it three in the 70th before Yuri Berchiche capped the rout in the 88th. Both sides arrived in La Liga's relegation zone, Athletic Club 15th and Getafe 16th, each sitting on nine points, and this result settles very little about where either ends up, but it flips the head-to-head script: Getafe had won two of the previous three meetings between these two, and this time they never got close. Kylian Mbappé still leads the scoring charts with 43, far removed from this afternoon's business. For Athletic Club, four different names on the scoresheet in one game is the kind of afternoon you don't get often, so watch how Berenguer's opener set the tone and Berchiche put the final nail in late on.
