Match Recap
Herrera finally got a win on the board, edging past Alianza FC 1-0 in Liga Panameña de Fútbol thanks to J. Betegon's goal right on the stroke of halftime in the 45th minute. On paper this had upset written all over it: Alianza arrived sitting second with 27 points and an unbeaten run of draws and wins, while Herrera came in rock bottom at 12th with just 8 points and five straight league games without a victory. History pointed the same way too, Herrera having lost their only previous meeting between these sides. None of that mattered once Betegon found the net. Alianza's leaky away form caught up with them, and Herrera's defense held firm for the remaining 45 minutes to protect the slimmest of leads. It's the kind of result that will barely dent Alianza's push up the table, but for Herrera it's a lifeline. Watch how Betegon's 45th-minute strike unfolded and see Herrera hang on against the league's form team in the full highlights.
