Match Recap
Independiente trailed at Union Santa Fe before flipping the game in four second-half minutes. Estigarribia had the home crowd believing at 49', but Independiente answered instantly through Sergio Montiel and Mauricio Meza struck again just five minutes later to turn a deficit into a 2-1 win in this Liga Profesional Argentina clash. The comeback lifts Independiente to fifth on 24 points, extending a stretch that already reads DWLDW, while Union Santa Fe's promising LWWWL run stalls at eighth. History leaned Union Santa Fe's way too, unbeaten in their last two meetings with this opponent, but that record is gone now. Neither side has a name among the league's top scorers this season, with C. Tarragona still well clear at the top of the charts, so this result was built on composure under pressure rather than individual brilliance. Watch how Independiente absorbed the opening blow and struck twice in the space of five minutes, turning panic at Union Santa Fe into silence, right there in the highlights below.
